From the moment of the first scene opening the newly released, Finding Forrester, the viewer can instantly see and feel that this movie is quality. Academy Award winning director, Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting), delivers a story worth watching and within it weaves history, symbolism, and morale. Veteran actor Sean Connery portrays author William Forrester, a man who has shut out the world who reveres him. Newcomer, Rob Brown, is Jamal, an inspirational teenager who has a passion for books and basketball hidden beneath a tough street exterior who's already seen too much of the world. Through extraordinary circumstances that bring them together, both are exposed to new worlds and find an unexpected friendship, unexpected dreams, and are never the same because of it. Anna Paquin, Busta Rhymes, F. Murray Abraham, and Zane Copeland Jr. also star. Teens will appreciate intense basketball scenes and a great performance by Busta Rhymes as Jamal's brother. If you liked Good Will Hunting, you'll be glad to have found "Forrester" at the box office. | |
