New Congregational Boards begin Governance October 1 Over the past several months, the Washington DC Church of Christ has been preparing for the self governance of the four DC-metro congregations and the two satellite church congregations. Consensus leadership groups in the various congregations believed that the size and maturity of the various churches allowed us to decentralize our administrative and eccelesiastical leadership structure to allow the churches to operate in a manner which would better reflect the wishes and needs of the local congregations.
As of October 1, 2003, this reorganization is complete and all of these congregations have Boards and have been separately incorporated in West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia! We have operated as four "Regions" and two "Satellite Churches" for several years, with a central administrative office. The new names of the four Washington DC-area International Churches of Christ are the Greater Baltimore, Montgomery County, Northern Virginia and District of Columbia Regional Churches of Christ. The Satellite Churches are the Northern Delaware and Greater Morgantown Churches of Christ.
The new Northern Virginia Church website is available at www.nova.ucd.net
Members of the MC Region can visit the Members-only website at mcdisciples.com

Part of being a parent is not just teaching your children, but learning from them. Here is one father's story of an important lesson he learned from his son.
My five-year-old son, Trevor, just concluded one of life's most critical rites of passage as he learned to ride his bike without training wheels. To fully comprehend just how amazing this feat was, you must first understand some things about Trevor.
From birth, Trevor has been the cautious type, rarely jumping into something before carefully studying and analyzing each of the potential outcomes. Highly organized and meticulous, he has personally selected matching clothes and dressed himself since he was three. He also bases most of his assumptions on Aristotelian logic gleaned from the world around him: "Five year olds ride on two wheels, therefore when I'm five I will ride on two wheels."
