Welcome to the website for the Blue Ridge Church of Christ. While we meet in Charlottesville, Virginia our membership includes many who drive in each Sunday from Roanoke, Harrisonburg and other spots in the beautiful Blue Ridge Area.
As we strive to be as unified as Jesus and the Father (John 17:20-24), we also celebrate our incredible diversity. Our fellowship is blessed with a wide range of ages and cultures. Come join us and fit right in!
Thanks for visiting.

 | | Our Mission Jesus, in his final words to his disciples before ascending to heaven, stated the mission of his church as follows:
Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20)
The Blue Ridge Church of Christ believes that it is the purpose of every Christian to "go and make disciples" of Jesus Christ. We believe the church must be comprised of "all nations," with members from all races and cultures. We believe that disciples must be taught "to obey" Jesus' teachings in the Bible.
The first church, comprised only of the apostles and one-day old "baby" Christians, was described as follows:
They (the 3,000 baby Christians) devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. (Acts 2:42-47)
The Blue Ridge Church of Christ strives to fit this example. We believe this is what the lives of our members must be about and that this is what our fellowship must be like-- if it is to fit the scriptural example of a true church.
The early church was devoted to the Bible, devoted to meeting together, devoted to remembering Jesus in communion, and devoted to prayer. It is our goal that every member fit this description. Furthermore, the early church was unified, sacrificial, giving, consistent in daily relationships amongst themselves, hospitable, joyous, and growing! We believe that these qualities will mark any individual, or group, that claims to truly follow Jesus Christ.
