 | | One for All and All for One! (Romans 14-15) Kip McKean - Sunday, May 23, 2004 "May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 15:5-6
No plan is impossible when men are unified. These are God's thoughts in Genesis 11, during the building of the Tower of Babel. In the course of human history, small but totally united groups of men and women have overcome overwhelming odds to accomplished the seemingly impossible. Foremost is the evangelism of the world in the first century!

 | | Faith Without Deeds Is Dead Kip McKean - Sunday, May 16, 2004 "What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-and shudder... so faith without deeds is dead." James 2:14-19, 26
Mother's Day Service was spectacular from start to finish! At the beginning of the service all the mothers were asked to stand up and be recognized. Then, since we are in the "City of Roses," each was handed a rose as the congregation sang, "We Love You With the Love of the Lord." At the close of the service, it was obvious that God's hand was at work so powerfully in restoring Shawn and Charyl de Martimprey as well as in two teens being baptized, Ally Bilicic and Tesoni Untalan. All four of these testimonies were so faith building! Also for the second straight week, we "blew-out" our new budget of $6000! Let me commend the entire congregation for your passion to please God, overwhelmingly demonstrated in your enthusiastic singing, warmth of fellowship, answered prayers, the incredible number of baptisms and restorations, and in your financial generosity!

 | | A Mother's Day Tribute Kip McKean - Sunday, May 09, 2004 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
Proverbs 31:25-29
Unconditional love is of God. This is the predominate quality shared by most mothers for their children. In all circumstances, "moms" love their "kids" regardless of their children's outward appearances, their limitations, embarrassing moments,

 | | As Many As Possible Kip McKean - Sunday, May 02, 2004 "Though I am free and belong to no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings."
1 Corinthians 9:19-23
Our brother Paul's passion for God is expressed in his goal "to win as many as possible." First of all in verse 20, Paul shares his desire to "win the Jews." Then in verse 21, he declares his zeal to win the Gentiles to Christ. In God's world view, it is composed of only two groups, Jews and Gentiles.

 | | Fighting For, Not In, Your Marriage Bob Bertalot - Tuesday, April 20, 2004 "Be completely humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love. Always keep yourselves united in the Holy Spirit, and bind yourselves together with peace... And 'don't sin by letting anger gain control over you. 'Don't let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a mighty foothold to the Devil...get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of malicious behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you." Ephesians 4:2-3, 26-27, 31-32 (NLT)
"Do you know what time it is? It's 12:30 in the morning!" A frantic response to the caller replies, "My wife and I have been fighting, we are very angry with each other and need help resolving this situation, can you help?"
