God created a plethora of leisure activities that each of us individually enjoys. After all, Jesus promised those who would sincerely follow him an adventurous life (John 10:10). However, there are experiences and adventures that are plainly more exhilarating when shared with others. Our participation in the Vancouver International Half Marathon, held on May 04,2003 was one of the exhilarating experiences we've all been a part of. The logistics were impressive to start with: Vancouver is BC's largest city, bordered by mountains, blessed with cool, rainforest-type temperature and populated by approximately 2 million people. The half marathon was a stretch of 21.1-Km (13.11-Miles) and participated by approximately 10,000 people all over the world and for all types of different reasons. Some participants raised money for leukemia, some wanted to challenge themselves and some did it for a loved one. ...

Allen moved to Edmonton from Uganda in August 2002. When she left Uganda, she promised her mother that her first priority upon arriving in Canada would be to search for a church. In September 2002 on the first day of classes at the University of Alberta, Tazwea, a zealous sister in the Campus ministry shared about Jesus with Allen. Allen was excited, but sceptical. The decision to become a disciple was challenging for her. As an international student in Canada, she was on her own, struggling to adjust to a new culture, building new relationships as well as seeking a relationship with God. Nevertheless, Allen began to study the Bible. She experienced an indescribable joy as she learned about God's kingdom in her Bible studies. ...
