BCC Website Introduction Rob Skinner - Thursday, January 01, 2004
Welcome to the web page of the Boise Christian Church! We hope this web page helps both members of the church and those who are interested in finding out more about our congregation.
History of our church.
Nine members of the Denver Church of Christ moved to Boise to start this congregation in the Fall of 1993. Led by Mark and Annie McCune, the young congregation had its first church service sitting around a park bench. Soon after that a "second wave" of disciples arrived to strengthen the young church. The church became financially independent after only 4 months, and it has continued to grow to this day. God's power and the faith of his disciples have enabled the church to grow despite many trials and transitions. The congregation now has a membership approaching 150 people.
Who we are.
The Boise Christian Church reflects the broad range of people that fill the Treasure Valley. Our church is filled with people from Twin Falls, Idaho to Ontario, Oregon. We have a growing campus ministry of about 30 disciples on the campus at Boise State University. We also have an equal number of young professionals in our church. Our family ministry is filled with young married couples and their children. Our current "Kids' Kingdom" children's program serves over 50 kids on Sundays.
Leadership of the church.
Rob Skinner serves as the lead Evangelist of our church. Rob studied business at U.C. Berkeley and then got his Masters in Biblical Studies from Trinity Seminary and College of the Bible. Rob and his wife, Pam, served 10 years on the mission field in Japan. Before that they planted and/or led churches in Portland, Oregon; Seattle, Washington and Anchorage, Alaska. They returned from Japan in May of this year to fulfill their dream of taking the Gospel all over the Northwest.
Chris and Becky Clawson lead the campus ministry. Chris and Becky both graduated from BSU and now serve the campus there. Chris and Becky are a young, dynamic couple that loves the outdoors, sports and helping people to find God. |
